Disney buys out Pixar
The media conglomerate that is it Disney, has picked up another All Star to their already unstoppable team. Disney has bout out Pixar in an all stock transaction deal that is worth 7.4 billion dollars. Steve Jobs, CEO of Pixar, is now currently the largest Disney stockholder and has been moved into a powerful position at Disney. Jobs, who also heads Apple inc, will now be on the Board at Disney, still making creative decisions over his company.
Pixar has been in the forefront of computer animation films. They launched the first ever with “Toy Story” and have hooked up with Disney on many other occasions. “ Finding Nemo” and “ the Incredibles“, also Disney and Pixar link ups, have won two academy awards for best animated feature film.
As well as having the greatest computer animation team in the world on their side , Disney is looking to tighten up their ties with Apple Inc., not necessarily looking at buying apple out ,but just to further their conglomerate to all facets of our society by integrating phones, iPODS, handheld video consoles with new features dealing with Disney.
